Tree Planting Event

The tree planting event, jointly organized by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Practice and Research Center (PSGPRC) and the Psychology Student Community, took place on March 20, 2025, at the Yeşilyurt Campus of Malatya Turgut Özal University, with high participation from psychology students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep SAĞIR, Head of the Department of Psychology, opened her speech by emphasizing the importance of participating in this event. She stated, “The main purpose of this event is for our students to contribute to greening the campus and to foster a sense of belonging to our university and department. As the trees take root, we hope our students will feel even more connected.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. SAĞIR continued, “Although our department is new, it continues to develop every day, primarily thanks to the support of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Recep BENTLİ. Today, we planted a sapling on his behalf, and we sincerely thank him for this opportunity.”

The event continued with faculty members, PSGPRC staff, and students collectively planting saplings, creating enjoyable and meaningful moments. Despite cold weather conditions, students’ enthusiasm for engaging with nature made the event particularly significant.

The event, themed “Kindness to Nature, Peace to the Soul”, concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to students by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep SAĞIR, Clinical Psychologist Menekşe BALOĞLU, and Research Assistant Hakan SARIYILDIZ.
