Students who wish to take courses from other universities’ summer schools can do so after completing the Summer School Course Registration Form and obtaining approval from their academic advisor. The following rules apply when applying to other universities’ summer schools:
- Students may take courses at other universities’ summer schools as long as the course content and ECTS credits are equal to or higher than those in Malatya Turgut Özal University’s Summer School Directive.
- To enrol in a course at another higher education institution, the minimum admission score of the relevant program at that institution must be equal to or higher than the student’s central placement score (LYS, DGS, etc.) for their registered program.
- A student may take courses in the summer school if they have completed all required courses from previous fall and spring semesters, or to retake courses they failed or could not take previously. They may also take courses from a higher semester once prerequisites are met.
- Regardless of GPA, students may take up to four courses in the summer school to improve grades for D1, D2, and D3 courses, not exceeding 12 credit hours or 20 ECTS. If only one course is taken, the 20 ECTS limit does not apply.
- Students cannot retake courses in which they have previously received a grade of C3 or higher.
- Grades obtained in the summer school will be included in the calculation of the overall GPA.
- Graduating students and those with a GPA between 3.00–4.00 may take up to 5 courses (4+1), not exceeding 16 credit hours or 25 ECTS.
- First-year students cannot take courses from the third or fourth year; second-year students cannot take courses from the fourth year.
- Students with a GPA below 1.80 may only retake courses they previously failed or passed conditionally.
- Students who have been suspended due to disciplinary or legal actions cannot enrol in summer school courses.
- Students required to do an internship during the summer may take summer school courses only if the internship dates do not conflict with the start and end dates of summer school courses and final exams.
- Prerequisite and corequisite rules in the curriculum of the student’s registered program also apply to summer school courses
